Tuukka Rask's 34 Saves Leads Boston to a 3-0 Series Lead over Philadelphia

UPDATE on Krejci -

CSNFlyer tweets -

@CSNFlyer reporting David Krejci w/broken wrist. Will have surgery in Baltimore

That is devastating to this team!!! I'm waiting to see if any Boston media sources picks this up to confirm.

-------------------

The Boston Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 behind the strong goaltending of Tuukka Rask. Thoroughly out played for most of the evening the Bruins capitalized on the opportunities they were given. After giving up the first goal on a an Aaron Asham finish the Bruins scored a couple of minutes later and never looked back. Tuukka, as has he's been throughout the series was outstanding tonight. The Flyers came out storming and controlled good portions of this game, but Tuukka stood tall and was unflustered in the crease even as he was run into on multiple occassions by the Flyers. They better hope somebody runs him and knocks him out of the game on Friday, that is the only way they are going to get to Mr. Cool in the net.

Blake Wheeler who has been strugling and demoted to 4th line duty tipped a nice goal by Brian Boucher. Miro (the Hero) Satan scored on a breakaway after Mike Richards crushed David Krejci on an open ice hit. Lucic took the puck from Krejci after the hit and fed Satan who put a beautiful deke on Boucher to put the B's up 2-1. Krecji did get an assist on the play. Neither team scored in the second period.

Iron Man Recchi scored the Bruins 3rd goal on the powerplay after a Chara slap shot bounced of Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger right to Recchi on the doorstep. Patrice Bergeron sealed the deal with an empty netter. No Pronger miracle save on this one.

So at this point heading to the possible series clinching game 4 the Flyers have had the lead for all of 2:21. Carcillo aka Chicken fingers had the chance to spark the team by going with Thornton but as chickens do, he chickened out.

The Flyers have never come back from 3-0 and I seriously don't think they will this time. Rask is too good in net and the B's only need one more road style game to take them to the Conference finals. As of right now no word on the extent of Krejci's injury other than shoulder. Nothing on McQuaid as well. Look for the B's to dip into the Black Aces for next game if either is not able to go. Possible return to action for Mark Stuart if he is medically cleared.

The Bruins have the one final nail to hammer down into the Flyers coffin. Lets hope they can do it Friday night.

Dan Carcillo Tastes Like Chicken

Rumors have it that Marc Savard was having an in game finger sandwich last night provided by Dan Carcillo. Mmmmmmm tastes like Chicken! If it acts like a chicken it must be a chicken. If he did actually get bit, it's most likely for the fact that he repeatedly jammed his fist into the mouth of Savard. Like Savard said "He tried to pull my teeth out".

With the Bruins up 2 game to none in the best of 7 Eastern Conference semifinals over the Flyers, it seems to be about time that someone puts 70's porn stache Carcillo in his place. He grabbed Savard by the throat in game 1, threw a blindside shoulder to the face of Steve Begin and tried to play dentist to Savard last night.

So Carcillo must be hard at work in the off season working on his resume to be a dentist and an actor. I give him my vote for actor of the year on the Begin retaliation. Begin comes back at him and crosschecks him in the back shoulder but yet he goes down holding his face. Those online acting and dental classes he must be taking look to be paying off.

With all of Carcillo's shenanigans the Flyers still sit down 2-0 in the series and have yet to lead at any point. Maybe if the Bruins jump out to any early 2-0 lead on Wed. night, Thornton will square off with gap mouth and put him in the box for five so that we don't have to look at his ugly mug on the ice. Ok enough about him.

The Bruins while winning last night need to do something about the power play. It was downright awful last night. They couldn't even get the puck in the zone and when they did Philly was beating them to it and clearing down the ice. We actually gave up a few decent shorthanded bids to them as well. This is a far cry from the way the PP played against Buffalo. I'll give Philly some credit in there relentless forecheck but I think a good portion of it was just some sloppy play by the Bruins.

Game 3 is Thursday night at 7pm in Philly. Between now and then I'll have some new artwork up gracing the site. It will have to do with our new favorite dentist/actor Carcillo  so check back!!

Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers Game 2

Wow does Marco Sturm have no luck at all. The poor guy coming back after a left knee injury (ACL) that kept him out last year wrecks his right knee (ACL & MCL) on his first shift of Saturday's game. There is a voodoo doll out there somewhere of Sturm and I'm blaming a Canadiens fan for having it. When something bad happens to the Bruins it's usually Montreal's fault. Hopefully his surgery will go well and he'll be back at some point next season.

Now with Sturm out that put Thornton back into the line up. Not that he needs it but I believe he'll be a little bit fired up because he was the odd man out last game. Nothing pisses a player off more than being a healthy scratch. Not likely to happen but I wouldn't mind seeing a Thornton - Carcillo throw down. Carcillo looks he belongs on the 70's Flyers with his scruffy beard porn star stach and half ass mullet. Thornton should grab him by his throat the first chance he gets during a scrum. Just for the fact he did it to Savard.

Tonight's projected lines. (courtesy of Fluto Shinzawa @ boston.com)

Daniel Paille / Patrice Bergeron / Mark Recchi

Milan Lucic / David Krejci / Miroslav Satan

Vladimir Sobotka / Marc Savard / Michael Ryder

Blake Wheeler / Steve Begin / Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara / Johnny Boychuk

Matt Hunwick / Dennis Wideman

Andrew Ference / Adam McQuaid

Tuukka Rask

Let's hope Savard coming off his story book return to the Bruins can play a regular shift tonight. The more he played last game the better he was. I would like to see a little more out of his line with Sobotka, hopefully he's not to banged up from crashing into the post last game. They need him to continue banging bodies and driving to the net like he did in the Buffalo series.

Let's go up 2-0 before we head to Philly!

Well I'm pretty sure all Bruins fans have read this by now. Since this has been around for a while. The Boston Bruins Our Father. I have no idea who actually wrote it but they get all the credit. I just decided to make it look pretty for Bruins fans. I also made it in 8 x 10 form so that any Bruins fans would like to print it out and put it on their wall with their other Bruins pics may do so.

You can see the Johnny Boychuk Wanted Poster as well as the Lindy Ruff Kleenex picture in the Gallery Section under Bostonbruinsfan.com Artwork.
